What A Week And It's Only Wednesday

We had an exciting to start to the week. First Emma and Papa Bob got to meet gold medal winner Scott Touzinsky. She had her picture taken with him and was able to hold the gold medal. They weren't expecting to meet him so the only camera they had to take the pic was with a camera phone but it was still really cool!

Then on Monday, the girls started soccer at SMMA, it's the first time they have played a team sport so they were excited. Since the kids ages range from three to five, they are on the same team. It's so cute, there are about six different teams and every Monday they practice for the first half hour and then play against one of the other teams the second half hour. Emma scored two goals and Ally stopped one goal from going in.

We had our own cheering section, Kate, Evan, Maddy, Mike, my mom and dad, Christine, Carol, Dave and I were all there to watch and cheer on the girls. The class that Papa Bob teaches at Wash. U is on Monday night's so he wasn't able to make it and he wasn't happy about missing it but I have a feeling he might make one this year.

Emma's 5th Birthday Bash

On Saturday we had Emma's 5th Birthday party at the house. She was so excited to have everyone over....she had been waiting for this day all month. It ended up being a really nice night and not the typical 100 degree summer evening we have been used to. We rented a bounce house for all the kids and it was a hit, it kept them busy all night long and the girls were completely exhausted by the end of the night.

The Big Birthday

Emma has been anxiously awaiting her fifth birthday and even more she can't wait until the end of the month when we have her "big" birthday party. She is so excited. The invites have been mailed and she is counting down the days.

Since her "big" party isn't until the end of the month Dave took the day off work on her birthday, picked up Emma and Ally really early from school and they spent the day together. They went to McDonald's for lunch, then the Zoo and the Planetarium and even saw a movie at the Omnimax....I was bummed I couldn't get off work to go but they had the best day. When they got home we had dinner and then opened presents. I don't think she'll forget what a great day it was and Ally can't get over how Daddy picked her up from school before nap (so cool)!!!

Grandma's Day Swim Party

August 5th was the second annual Grandma's Day swim party at Linda's house and we had so much fun swimming and eating lunch by the pool. All in all there were 15 of us ranging from Great-grandma's to babies and even more fun was that it was mostly all girls (Papa Donnie and Evan were the only two boys)!

Summer Days

We haven't had a lot going on the last couple weekends so we really just been hanging out at home. Ally went to her first birthday party for her friend Molly from school. It was the first time she's ever gone to a party without Emma. I think she was nervous to go it alone but once we got there and she saw all the other little girls from her Sunrays class at school she didn't miss a beat. All in all , it was a good weekend but as usual it went way to fast.

On Tuesday, we are going to the second annual Grandma's day swim party where we will get together to swim and have lunch with a bunch of my dad's cousins, their kids and the great Grandma's. We all have girls so it should be a fun day of chaos with eight little screaming girls!!!

A Fun Family Weekend

I can't believe how fast the weekends seem to fly by and how quickly the summer is going. On Saturday, we went to a BBQ and swim party at Aunt Sue and Uncle Bob's house. The girls had so much fun swimming and playing with all the other kids. Robyn was in town so the girls had the chance to play with Kaitlyn and Kiele, since we don't get to see them very often it was a great afternoon of playing, swimming and eating.

Welcome To The Orr Family Blog

I've wanted to create a website or blog for some time now since the girls are getting older we seem to already have a lot going on so I figured this will help us keep all our family and friends updated on our various activities, outings and outbursts but mostly just a way to share our really great girls with everyone!

Emma is five and definitely takes on the challenge of being the big sister (she thinks she's the mom), she likes to give direction (be bossy) and loves to play with Ally and Kate (as long as they follow her rules). All joking aside she is the sweetest girl who loves to entertain everyone, she has an infectious laugh that makes you smile everytime you hear it and maybe it's just me but seems way to smart for her age.

Ally is 31/2 and ever the comedian...she's funny and like to make everyone around her laugh. She has a spirited personality...some days you just never know what you are going to get. She has a really active imagination and likes to play school with her dolls. Besides being the funny girl, Ally has a heart of gold and will share and compromise better than anyone I've seen her age.

Kate is 15months old and she's been walking for a few months and is now ready to take on climbing ...she climbs on everything and it makes me crazy. She is in love with her older sisters who can make her laugh just by looking her way, she loves to eat and play outside, she's a Mama's girl who loves to be held and one of the best snugglers in the house, her affection is so adorable, she make you want to hug her all the time.
